Eco-Warriors Join Citywide Clean-Up After Odette

We are proud to witness our Eco-Warriors standing shoulder to shoulder with the uniformed men from our city’s enforcement team in a massive clean-up drive following the devastation brought by Typhoon Odette.

Armed not just with tools but with courage and a strong sense of purpose, our Eco-Warriors showed that they are more than just waste collectors—they are community builders and defenders of the environment. By joining forces with local authorities, they helped restore order and cleanliness in affected areas, proving once again the vital role they play in both disaster response and environmental management.

This is exactly the kind of empowerment and recognition we dream of for all informal waste pickers: that they are seen and valued not only as contributors to solid waste management but also as active advocates for sustainability and resilience. Their participation sends a strong message—that every hand, when united, can create a cleaner, safer, and stronger community.

The Eco Kolek Project, together with our partners, continues to champion this vision by providing support, training, and opportunities for our Eco-Warriors to rise as leaders of change in Puerto Princesa.
