Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – 27 August 2025 – As part of its continuing efforts to raise awareness on solid waste management and circular economy, Eco Kolek conducted another educational roadshow with 21 grade school students of Cabayugan Elementary School. The activity was held alongside the school’s celebration of Buwan ng Wika, making it both a cultural and environmental learning experience for the students.

At Cabayugan Elementary School, the program combined short lectures, games, and participatory activities that made learning engaging for children. One of the highlights was the “Pledge of Commitment” activity, where students expressed their promise to care for the environment by using paints to symbolize their unity in taking action.

The roadshow is part of Eco Kolek’s education and behavior change campaign, which aims to build a new generation of Eco Warriors starting from schools. By reaching students at an early age, Eco Kolek hopes to instill lifelong habits of waste segregation, recycling, and environmental stewardship.

Eco Kolek believes that change starts with the youth. Through PEMSEA’s support, and in partnership with the City Government of Puerto Princesa through the City ENRO, Eco Kolek is empowering young learners to not only understand circular economy concepts but to practice them in their schools, homes, and communities.

This roadshow is one of a series of school-based engagements that Eco Kolek is conducting under PEMSEA’s MEP program in Puerto Princesa. Earlier sessions have already reached hundreds of students, and more schools are lined up in the coming months as Eco Kolek continues to expand its awareness campaigns through its Circular Economy Learning Hub.

Together with PEMSEA, the LGU, teachers, parents, and students, Eco Kolek is making sure that every child becomes part of the solution to plastic pollution — one classroom at a time.
